چکیده

Since Kramer (1933) investigated the optical properties ofhemoglobin/oxyhemoglobin solutions, many methods have been proposed for the photometric estimation of the oxygen saturation of blood. A new method can only be advocated if it offers economy of apparatus or reagents, greater ease of performance, or the elimination of sources of error. It is upon these grounds that the following method is proposed for consideration.

مقایسه اندازه‌گیری اشباع اکسیژن خون شریانی با پالس اکسی‌متری و نمونه خون شریانی در بیماران بخش مراقبت‌های ویژه قلبی

Background: Pulseoximetry is widely used in the critical care setting, currently used to guide therapeutic interventions. Few studies have evaluated the accuracy of SPO2 (puls-eoximetry oxygen saturation) in intensive care unit after cardiac surgery. Our objective was to compare pulseoximetry with arterial oxygen saturation (SaO2) during clinical routine in such patients, and to examine the eff...

مقایسه تغییرات اشباع اکسیژن خون شریانی و ضربان قلب بیماران در ساکشن باز اندوتراکیال با دو سایز 12 و 14 :یک مطالعه کارآزمایی بالینی

Introduction: Artificial airway stimulates the sympathetic system and the loss of ciliated cells and the accumulation of secretions. Therefore, since these patients do not have the ability to discharge, periodic suction is needed. This study aimed at comparing the effect of open suction endotracheal tube using 2 different sized suction catheters on arterial blood oxygen saturation in critical c...

تأثیر ساکشن لوله داخل نای بر وضعیت همودینامیک واکسیژناسیون خون شریانی

Background and Aim: Intratracheal suctioning is a standard method of nursing care for intubated patients with the aim of cleaning airway for good oxygenation. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of intratracheal suctioning on blood pressure, heart rate, and arterial oxygen saturation.   Materials and Methods: This was a semi-experimental research in which the patients admitted t...

Spectrophotometric determination of blood oxygen.

Gasometric methods for estimating blood oxygen are time-consuming. This consideration often limits the number of observations which can be made in the course of experiments requiring oxygen determinations. In many cases it is an arteriovenous difference which is particularly desired, as in the measurement of cardiac output by the Fick principle, or the estimation of oxygen consumption by human ...

A spectrophotometric method of estimating blood oxygen using the unicam SP 600.

Accurate estimations of percentage oxygen saturation and oxygen capacity are frequently needed in research and routine investigation of patients suffering from diseases of the heart and lungs. Blood gas analysis for this purpose is time consuming and requires the services of a highly skilled technician. Further, the methods need to be in constant use if reliable results are to be obtained. Accu...
